On the second Sunday of every August, members of Grace Lutheran, along with former members and their descendants, gather for a Homecoming worship service at St. Matthew Lutheran church, located near the Spring Run Trout Hatchery, south of Dorcas. There is always a carry-in meal  following the service.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church was founded in 1756 near the location of present-day Brake United Church of the Brethren. and later moved to a Union church in Rough Run around 1842 and named "The Waterfall Church".  In 1872, a plot of land was purchased a the present site and the congregation was officially named "St. Matthew".  Services were held here until the congregation merged with Grace Lutheran in 1955.  Our history is important to us and this service gives us a chance to reconnect with that history.

We hope that you will join us!
